Sodium Bentonite is a natural soil amendment used to enhance the soil profile in particular with coarse textured or sandy soil. It acts as a soil conditioner to help maximize water and fertilizer use. Studies have been conducted showing positive correlations among soil available water, field water capacity, photosynthesis parameters and plant quality parameters.
